Nagori graduated from Ujjain varsity: MP

Safdar Nagori, the general secretary of SIMI, had graduated from Ujjain’s Vikram University when he was an absconder in police records, the Madhya Pradesh government admitted in the Assembly on Monday.

Nagori had done his post-graduation in Mass Communications from the university where he was enrolled in 1998.

In a non-starred question, Home Minister Umashankar Gupta admitted that Nagori did his higher education while he was a declared absconder.

In reply to a question from BJP MLA Yashpal Singh Sisodiya, the Home Minister, however, ruled out that Nagori was under someone’s protection when he was taking his higher education.

Before the students’ outfit was banned in 2001, a case (588/97) had been slapped against Nagori in Ujjain’s Mahakal Police Station in 1997. He was declared an absconder after a charge-sheet was filed in a court on December 11, 2000.
